Eligibilty Criteria for Apply Malaysian Universities for Scholarship
Applicants must meet the following criteria for their applications to be considered:
- For master's applicants not more than 40 years old.
- For PhD applicants not more than 45 years old.
- For master's applicants a CGPA of 3.00 or 2nd Class Upper or higher at the bachelor's degree level.
- For PhD applicants a CGPA of 3.00 or excellent results at the master's level in courses related to the intended study program.
- An IELTS score of 6.0 or higher.
- A TOEFL score of 550 or higher.
- Previous degrees where English was the medium of instruction.
- Submit a written research proposal of at least 1,000 words relevant to the intended field of study.
- Scholars must study full-time for postgraduate programs at selected universities and higher education institutes. It is the scholar's responsibility to confirm their admission to the university.
- Scholars cannot change their study program during the scholarship period unless they have written permission from the university and MOHE.
- Scholars must meet the study program requirements and follow Malaysian laws, as well as the university’s rules, regulations, and codes of conduct.
- If a scholar is suspended from the university, their scholarship will be immediately suspended, and they will not receive monthly allowances during the suspension.
Required Documents for MIS (Malaysian International Scholarship)
Below are the required documents to apply for the Malaysian International Scholarship by the Malaysian Government.
- A valid passport, showing nationality and valid for at least 6 months.
- Certified copies of academic transcripts.
- Postgraduate studies require an undergraduate degree transcript.
- For PhD, applicants require a master's degree transcript.
- These transcripts should list all courses taken during previous study programs.
- If the transcript doesn't include CGPA or marks, applicants must also submit a certified official document from their previous institution describing the grading system.
- A certified copy of the English Proficiency test result IELTS / TOEFL, or an official letter from the previous institution stating that English was the medium of instruction for the obtained degree.
